Here is a list of my favorite 7 day hikes near Nashville that you can do this weekend!
7. Day Loop Trail w/ Partial Volunteer Trail – Long Hunter State Park (@ Percy Priest)
Difficulty: Moderate; Loop (Heavily Trafficked)
Length: 1.1 Miles
Elevation Gain: 255 Ft
I hiked this trail in the early spring while the flowers were blooming and everything was lush and green!
6. Cummins Falls – Cummins Falls State Park
Difficulty: Moderate; Loop (Heavily Trafficked)
Length: 1.1 Miles
Elevation Gain: 255 Ft
I hiked Cummins Falls on Easter Day. Going in was pretty empty but it got crowded quickly. I recommend doing this hike early mornings during the week when the crowd is down. Also, it should be mentioned that this hike requires some rock scrambling and balancing. It’s great for kids but anyone with knee or back problems probably shouldn’t attempt this hike. Additionally, the waterfall bed is very slippery!
5. Greeter Falls – Savage Gulf State Natural Area
Difficulty: Moderate; Loop
Length: 3.2 Miles
Elevation Gain: 485 Ft
This trail is simply amazing but is also heavily trafficked and can get crowded. While I can’t guarantee safety, there were people cliff jumping from the top into the swimming hole below.
4. Walls of Jericho – Hytop, Alabama
Difficulty: Hard; Out & Back
Length: 6.6 Miles
Elevation Gain: 1348
Right when you think this trail ends, you are in for a treat! If you decide to continue over the rock scramble to the top of the hill you will encounter this beauty!
3. Machine Falls – Short Springs State Natural Area
Difficulty: Moderate; Loop
Length: 1.6 Miles
Elevation Gain: 200 Ft
2. Fiery Gizzard – Grundy Forest State Natural Area
Difficulty: Hard; Loop
Length: 9.1 Miles
Elevation Gain: 1131 Ft
